Lee Pockriss has written pop songs, film scores and Broadway shows. With lyricist Anne Croswell he has written the songs for the Broadway musical Tovarich starring Vivien Leigh, which received a Grammy nomination for Original Cast Album. Pockriss and Croswell have also collaborated on the frequently produced Earnest In Love (based on The Importance of Being Earnest ) and Bodo (with book by Hugh Wheeler). Pockriss has also written the music for the musicals Wonderful Olly, Dolley Madison, and Divorce Of Course.
Mr Pockriss has written and produced songs that have sold over 100 million copies. These include the classics, My Little Corner Of The World which received a 1975 Country Music Award, Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, Johnny Angel, Playground In My Mind, and Catch A Falling Star for which he received a second Grammy nomination.
For Television he has composed music for such shows as The Mike Douglas Show, The Milton Berle Show and The Sid Caesar Show. He has written numerous songs (music and lyrics) for Sesame Street and scored the animated ABC prime time special Stanley, The Ugly Duckling.
For MGM's full length animated film, The Phantom Tollbooth he wrote seven original songs, scored The Subject Was Roses and wrote the title song for One, Two, Three and the Western Classic, Stagecoach.
